Wednesday, April 21st suddenly but peacefully at his home.

Predeceased by his brothers Gerry, Eugene and Edward. Deeply regretted by his nephews John (Orla) & Fintan (Jennifer), niece Carmel (Andreas), grand-nephew Seán, nieces Alice, Louise & Eva, Bishop Martin Hayes, his fellow priests in the Kilmore diocese, relatives & a large circle of friends. Rest in Peace.

Due to government and HSE covid 19 guidelines a private Funeral Mass and burial will take place on Saturday. Funeral Mass at 12 o'clock in St. Patrick's Church, Kilnavart with a maximum of 10 people. Burial afterwards in St. Ninnidh’s cemetery Derrylin, arriving approximately at 2 o'clock, via Teemore. House private please. The Funeral Mass can be viewed on

So sad to hear of Fr Fintan RIP, he was a lovely priest and a very very special friend, someone we will always remember.

What a shock hear this sad news. Rest in peace Fr Mckiernan. Lovely memories of so many visits to our home. Benny was his co-pilot for many trips. He was always rewarded with a big steak on the way home. A wonderful priest and great leader. Will be sadly missed.

Farewell Fintan, My classmate for seven years and my very good friend for 60 years. You were a tower of strength on the football field, a man of wisdom in all your decisions And the great priest who was totally dedicated to care of your parishioners. May you enjoy the hundredfold reward for all of your labours.

Sincere sympathy to Fr. Fintan's family on the death of a wonderful priest. I will never forget him for the help he gave me when my brother died suddenly in London, helping me to arrange his home coming and to be laid to rest in Derrylin. And all the visits he made to my late mother in Law before she passed away. May they all rest in peace.
