Syrian refugees are to be housed in Monaghan.
Monaghan County Council recently announced that 20 families were to be rehoused in the area in early next year.
However, the announcement has been greeted with concern from some.

Local Independent Councillor Seamus Treanor says these refugees should be accommodated in neighbouring Middle Eastern countries and not in Ireland:
