HEAR MORE: Use it or lose it - calls for more people to use Monaghan Minor Injury Unit

The public's being urged to use the Minor Injuries Unit at Monaghan Hospital. The unit opened after the closure of the Emergency Department in 2009 but the opening hours were reduced two years later due to a lack of footfall.

4,500 people used the facility last year, with that number expected to be surpassed in 2018. Consultant Dr Ashraf Butt spoke to Eddie Butler on The Wider View about what can and can't be treated at the unit:
