LISTEN BACK: Carrickmacross Workhouse ready to welcome visitors back after Covid-19

The Carrickmacross Workhouse was one of the 130 such buildings constructed throughout Ireland between 1841 and 1843.

It's now a not for profit social enterprise that works to tell the story of those who lived in it during the Famine.

While it's currently closed due to Covid-19, staff are working to reopen it shortly and allow tours that are complient with public health guidelines.
