13 secondary school teachers got retirement lump sums of over 160,000 euro last year.
A total of 432 people got these payments in 2020, and the average amount was over 94,000 euro.
And, according to the Department of Education, 707 primary school teachers got an average of almost 96,000 euro in retirement lump sums last year.

Labour's education spokesperson, Aodhán Ó Ríordáin, is defending the amounts.
