5 local music groups granted funding under Non-Mainstream Music Education Bursary Scheme

5 local music groups have been granted funding under the Non-Mainstream Music Education Bursary Scheme.

This scheme provides a small cash grant to support music education and music initiatives to continue to encourage young musicians outside of a school environment.

In Cavan St. Mary's Brass and Reed Band, NYAH Comhaltas, Cavan Town Branch CCE each received €2,000 each, while in Monaghan Stedfast Shoes Brass Band also got €2,000.

In the Shannonside region Longford School of Rock as received €3,000

These allocation have been welcomed by local representatives.
