Almost 14 per cent of Cavan's rates income comes from wind power

This report looks at the impact of wind power in Ireland.

Thee local Councils receive more than 10 per cent of their rates income from wind farms.

A new study by KPMG for Wind Energy Ireland show wind farms contribute 22 per cent of rates in Leitrim, 15.5 per cent in Co Tipperary, 14 per cent in Roscommon and 13.6 per cent in Cavan.

3.6 per cent of Monaghan's rates come from wind farms.

Wind Energy Ireland says close to two thousand more jobs will be added in the sector in the next decade -- around a third of them operational jobs.
