Caitríona Balfe has announced the birth of her baby son.
The Monaghan actor made the announcement yesterday, saying she was "off socials for a while" as she was "taking some time to enjoy cooking up this little human".
This is the first child for Balfe and her husband Tony McGill.

The Ballinode native is known for her role in the TV drama Outlander and has multiple TV awards as well as four Golden Globe nominations to her name.

She hasn't revealed the baby's name or when he was born, but did use the post to promote a number of charities close to her heart, including World Childhood Cancer, of which she is a patron.
