A local councillor wants to prepare plans to develop a park and ride service in Carrickmacross.
Sinn Féin's Noel Keelan wants the council to look at utilising land that surrounds the proposed N2 route.
He hopes that these areas can be used as pickup and drop off points for people availing of the daily bus to Dublin, with the possibility of linking it up with Castleblayney.
