The Minister for Higher Education says he fully recognises the need for works to begin on a new campus for Cavan Institute.
Local TD Niamh Smyth says it's unacceptable the college has been on the Department's building list for over eight years.
The former Dún Uí Neill barracks in Cavan town was bought by CMETB in 2017 with a view to converting it to a new campus but little progress has been made.

Minister Harris last week met with representatives of the college and he praised the work being done when he spoke in the Dáil.
And he said he hopes work can progress for the plans in the coming months:
