A Cavan councillor has called for the council to buy a new Pothole repair machine for the county's road.
Sarah O'Reilly, the Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council, noted at a recent Bailieborough-Cootehill MD meeting that Wexford has recently purchased a new machine for around €250,000.
If funding cannot be secured to by a new machine, Councillor O'Reilly says money should be ring-fenced to hire the use of a pothole repair machine when the need arises.

However, MD area Manager Alan Lyons said "we can't put all our money into fixing potholes".
Councillor O'Reilly says the council is having difficulty in keeping on top of potholes and it's time to get creative in tackling the problem:
