A Cavan councillor is "hopeful" that supports can be found to save Bailieborough Swimming Pool.

Aontu's Sarah O'Reilly brought a motion to the most recent Cavan County Council meeting, warning that the facility isn't feasible with current Covid-19 restrictions.

The pool is a not-for-profit organisation and one of only two public pools in the county, however has been unsuccessful in recent applications for funding to reopen fully.

Her call for support received unanimous support, with councillors from across the county backing the motion for the local authority investigate how it can help.
