Cavan and Monaghan County Council to elect new Chairs later today

Cavan and Monaghan County Councils will elect their new Chairs for the year ahead later today.

Both Councils are holding their first monthly meetings since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Both outgoing Cathaoirleachs are Fianna Fáil Councillors, Shane P O'Reilly in Cavan and Seamus Coyle in Monaghan.

Councillors will meet later today at each Council's AGM to fill the posts of Cathaoirleach and Leas-Cathaoirleach for the year ahead.
