Cavan and Monaghan remain the counties with the highest use of special Garda Covid-19 powers.
The Policing Authority has released its latest report showing the Cavan-Monaghan and Galway divisions saw the powers used 41 times from early April to early July.
That’s almost double the next highest Division, Dublin East, which saw the powers used 22 times.

Sligo-Leitrim was the second highest in the Shannonside Northern Sound region at 11, followed by Roscommon-Longford with eight.
The Westmeath Division also saw the powers used eight times.
Gardaí nationally used the powers 353 times between April and July.
