There's an 'onus' on Israel to bring about a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict in the region.
Cavan Senator Joe O'Reilly has described the situation as "inhumane activity" that is a "blot on humanity".
Speaking in the Seanad he told the Foreign Affairs Minister that Ireland should be leading the campaign for an end to hostilities.
