A Cavan TD is hopeful that progress will be made on a large scale multi-sports facility in Cavan Town in the coming weeks.
Niamh Smyth recently raised a Parliamentary question with the Minister for Transport, Tourism, and Sport, Eamon Ryan, about funding that was previously approved for Cavan.
Deputy Smyth said she understands that this funding of €837,000 may be released soon following the completion of further due diligence into the project plans.

The Fianna Fáil TD added that "this process is nearing completion and it's expected that a formal funding agreement will be issued to the local authority in the near future".
Deputy Smyth told Shannonside Northern Sound that the facility would be a "game changer for sport in Cavan":
