A Cavan youth worker has encouraged young men to seek out mental health supports during the covid-19 pandemic.
Mecheila McCaul, a youth worker with Bounce Back Youth Service, says too often young males "bottle in their feelings" and are afraid to talk to others about mental health issues.
She says the pandemic has had a very severe impact on young people, with many missing out on milestones such as their first disco or their debs.
