CCTV is to be installed at a number of bring banks across County Cavan.
Concerns were raised by Fianna Fáil Councillor Craig Lovett at a recent meeting of the Ballyjamesduff Municipal District about a build-up of waste at some centres.
He called for the banks to be emptied more frequently as people often dump rubbish beside them if they’re full.

MD Engineer John McGahern said bottle banks are emptied at least once a week but there had been a large increase in the use of the centres during the pandemic.
Councillors were told CCTV will be installed at nine bring banks across County Cavan before the end of July.
