Gardaí are encouraging people to attend a property marking event in Monaghan town this afternoon.
It's organised by the new Community Engagement Unit in the Cavan-Monaghan division.
The unit was launched in May, and is working to keep vulnerable and hard to reach groups safe through targeted intervention against organised crime, drug abuse and anti-social behaviour.

Gardaí will have the property marking machine at McNally's Carpark from 1 o'clock to 4 o'clock.
Inspector Annmarie Lardner oversees the unit in County Monaghan, and she gives an example of what people can bring.
