Concern has been raised about the number of Monaghan people not turning up for Covid-19 tests.
Dr Ian Quintyne, a specialist in Public Health Medicine with the HSE revealed that of the 466 planned appointments in Cavan last week, 57 people didn’t present themselves.

However, in Monaghan, of the 577 scheduled appointments, 92 people didn’t attend.

It comes amid an increase in cases along the border, which has seen the 14-day incidence rate in Monaghan move above that of Dublin.
Recent data up to midnight on Wednesday has Monaghan’s rate at over 166 per 100,000 population, while Cavan’s incidence rate is at 67.

While Dr Quintyne says Cavan’s do-not-attend rate is “manageable”, he says Monaghan’s is more worrying:
