The number of farms sold in Co Monaghan decreased sharply in 2020, when compared to the year previous.
The Irish Farmers Journal reports that only nine farms were put on the market in the county last year, compared to 28 farms in 2019.
Only five of the nine farms on the market last year were successfully sold as of the year's end.

The average price of the land was also down, from €7,477 euro per acre in 2019 to €6,745 euro in 2020.
Monaghan, alongside Cavan and Donegal, was placed into a Level 4 lockdown in October of last year, while the rest of the country remained at Level 3.
