€40,000 worth of drugs was recovered in Cavan over the weekend.
On Friday Cavan Gardaí searched a house in the town under warrant.

A quantity of cannabis was recovered and one male, aged in his late 30's, was arrested at the scene and detained at Cavan Garda Station.

He was charged following directions from the D.P.P. with drug related charges and appeared at a special sitting of the District Court on Saturday morning in Monaghan.
The search was part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of illegal drugs in the Cavan area.
