Electric Ireland is increasing its prices, affecting over 1.1 million customers.
The cost of electricity is due to go up by nine per cent from August, while the cost of gas is to increase by just under eight per cent.
Bonkers.iE estimates that it'll result in an extra €100 a year to the average annual electric bill.

The comparison website expects the average yearly gas bill to jump by about €60.
