A feasibility study for the Greenway from Clones to Smithborough is to be completed in the coming months.
Over €1 million was allocated for local greenway projects in July by Minister Eamon Ryan.
As part of that, the Ulster Canal Greenway project received €100,000 for design works on this section of the project.

At this month's meeting of the Ballybay-Clones MD it was confirmed that tenders have been received for the feasibility study and a decision on that will be made by the end pf the month.
There will also be a decision on the awarding of the scoping study contract for the Ballybay-Castleblayney Greenway by the end of January.
