Catherine Martin, who’s also from Carrickmacross, is challenging current leader Eamon Ryan.
Under party rules a leadership election must take place within six months of a general election.

This year’s contest is taking place next month.
Darcy Lonergan says she hasn’t made up her mind on who she’ll back and no campaigning has yet taken place.
