Funding is being granted to two Cavan organisations to help boost geological history in the area

Two Cavan organisations are to receive €10,000 in funding to help boost the understanding of the area's geological history.

Geological Survey Ireland has allocated the funding to six groups across the country.

PROJECT Belturbet will use the funding to "introduce a geoheritage narrative" to its existing Dreamscapes Trail in the town.

The Marble Arch Geopark is developing an online poetry map, with poems inspired by the areas unique geology.

Groups in Cork, Kerry, Donegal and Waterford also received funding.
