Irish Water is to start works in Shercock to reduce leaks and improve water quality for local residents and businesses.
In partnership with Cavan County Council, they will be replacing old problematic water mains along the Baileborough Road.
The work will involve laying new water service connections from the public water main to the customers’ water supply, as well as replacing any lead connections.
To facilitate the works, there will be some traffic management in place but the community will be notified in advance and alternative routes will be available
There may also be some short-term water shut offs and customers will be given a minimum of 48 hours’ notice prior to any planned water shut offs.
It is hoped this project will be completed by October.
