The issuing of digital certs is a 'chink of light' according to a local travel agent.
Non-essential international travel reopens this day week with 1.9 million Digital Covid Certs to be issued to people who have been fully vaccinated, as well as certs available on request to people who have recently recovered from Covid-19.
Mark Clifford from O'Hanrahan Travel in Monaghan Town says the different rules either side of the border is causing some confusion, but he is hopeful that in the coming weeks the UK and EU will align their policies.
He says that the industry was at 'rock bottom' and this is the 'chink of light' needed:
