A local Senator is calling for more to be done to stop dentists leaving the medical card scheme.
Robbie Gallagher said that in the past year, one in four dentists stopped their involvement in the programme.
He's called on the Minister for Health to intervene and find a resolution, for the sake of those who might otherwise not engage with dentists.

Speaking in the Seanad, he said there's more to it than the financial cost.
