Local Fianna Fail TD Brendan Smith has renewed a call for a proper investigation into the Belturbet bombing in County Cavan.

It caused the deaths of 15 year-old Geraldine O'Reilly and 16 year-old Patrick Stanley on the 28th of December 1972.

He says this is the 48th anniversary of the awful tragedy where the two innocent teenagers lost their lives and many others were injured.

Deputy Smith says he's glad the Taoiseach will call on authorities in the North and in Britain for an investigation:
