Cavan/Monaghan TD Brendan Smith has called on the Transport Minister to provide additional funding for non-national roads.
Deputy Smith says there is an "urgent need to upgrade many local roads throughout" Cavan and Monaghan, adding that these roads are vital given the number of businesses that use the local road network on a daily basis.
Minister Eamon Ryan, in a response to a parliamentary question from Brendan Smith, says he anticipates that there will be additional funding for regional and local roads next year.
