Local TD Matt Carthy 'honoured' to be appointed to Public Accounts Committee

Local TD Matt Carthy says he is honoured to have been appointed to the Public Accounts Committee by his party leader, Mary Lou McDonald.

The PAC has overall responsibility for ensuring public services are run efficiently and for guaranteeing transparency and accountability with public expenditure.

The Cavan-Monaghan TD says this role is more important than ever given the financial constraints on families and businesses due to the covid-19 pandemic.

Membership of committee isn’t expected to be finalised until after the summer recess.
