A local TD is pushing for Ophthalmology Outpatient services to be restored in Cavan Town.
In March Cavan General Hospital had to move some of their services out of the building to accommodate additional space to tackle Covid-19.
The service was available in Virginia at the Primary Care Centre as well as a locum service at the North Monaghan Primary Care Centre.

However, Cavan/Monaghan TD Niamh Smyth has asked that the service be restored to Cavan which is more easily accessible for many people.
Deputy Smyth raised the issue recently in the Dáil by way of Parliamentary Question:
