Sandra McIntyre has been elected chair of the Cavan-Monaghan branch of Fine Gael.
She was chosen at the regional AGM which was held last night.
The west Cavan woman ran for the party at last year's General Election.

Meanwhile, Monaghan student Maeve Cusack has been elected Irish and Culture Officer with Ógra Fianna Fáil.
The Leaving Cert student was chosen as the organisation's national conference at the weekend.
