Maguire says support from local community this year was incredible

Leona Maguire says the support from the local community over the past year has been incredible.

Earlier this week, the Cavan native was named the first ever Irish woman to make the European Solheim Cup team.

While last month she represented Ireland at the Tokyo Olympics.

She's now based in Orlando, Florida but said she's enjoyed the easing of restrictions that has allowed her return to Ballyconnell more often.

Leona told Northern Sound this morning that she'll always be a Cavan woman.
