A man has been arrested for causing criminal damage to a statue on the grounds of St Joseph's Church in Carrickmacross.
At around 2.30 on Saturday afternoon, Gardaí in Carrickmacross received a report of a male causing damage to the statue on O'Neill Street.
He was arrested near the scene and taken to Carrickmacross Garda Station, where he was detained and charged, with a court date to follow.
