18 arrests have been made by Gardaí and the PSNI following a joint operation to tackle rural crime along the border.
High visibility patrols took place throughout all border counties yesterday, concentrating specifically on routes being used by burglars and gangs.
Gardai arrested 5 people suspected of drink or drug driving, 3 vehicles were seized and one man was detained after a drug seizure in Clones, Monaghan.

Meanwhile, the PSNI made 12 arrests, 8 drugs seizures, and seized 3 vehicles during the operation.
