Managing Director of local nursing home says staff and residents 'feel blessed' as Covid-19 vaccine rollout begins

The managing director of a Cavan nursing home says staff and residents “feel blessed” to be in the early stages of the covid-19 vaccination rollout.

The vaccine roll-out among residents at Esker Lodge Nursing Home will begin today at 2 pm, and its Managing Director Vicky McDwyer says it’s a “huge day” for residents and their families.

The Breffni Care Centre will also begin its vaccination roll-out today, with the two care centres being the first in the region to administer the vaccine on its premises.

Vicky says today will provide a “massive lift in morale” for residents and staff, adding that every resident is availing of the vaccine.
