A Monaghan childcare provider says the incomes have dropped “dramatically” since the start of the pandemic.

'Together for Early Years' has organised a Virtual Day of Action over the funding crisis in the sector, with calls for more pay.

Adrienne Kearns runs the Acorn Montessori and Afterschool service in Tydavnet and says there is much uncertainty over the future of the sector.

Ireland has the highest rate of fees for early childhood services, but is the lowest paid.

Adrienne explained how the sector needs for support from the Government.
