A Monaghan farmer has been fined over €630,000 for the non-declaration of tax.

Three Monaghan businesses or individuals have appeared on the latest tax defaulters list.

Kieran Sherry from Alkill House in Castleshane was found by the Courts to owe €633,203 for not declaring income tax.

Elsewhere two local businesses were found to be under-declaring tax following Revenue audits.

Inov8 Contracts Ltd on the Ballybay Road in Monaghan paid back €46,766 for under-declaring PAYE, PRSI and USC.

Gerard McCarville, a retailer of agricultural and animal medicinal products from Tullyvogey, Tydavnet paid €63,583 for the under-declaration of income tax.
