A local councillor has urged the Monaghan Municipal District to write to Lord Rossmore in order to advance road works on the Tullyherim lane.
At a recent MD meeting, Councillor David Maxwell proposed that the MD ask Lord Rossmore to sell the lane to the Council so that they can repair it.
The Director of Services, John Murray, explained that the council cannot carry out any works on the lane due to insurance issues as the lane is private.

Councillor Maxwell said the current state of the lane is not fair on the people who live there and that contact should be made with Lord Rossmore to explain the situation.
