Non-essential shops and businesses around Monaghan Town have been welcoming their customers back since early this morning.
Hairdressers and beauticians had their doors open first thing as they attempt to deal with the backlog of clients ahead of Christmas.
Many of the retail outlets had moved their business online through click and collect, with many continuing that service for those that are still staying at home.

Customers are being welcomed back and encouraged to support local.
