The Moylagh JFK 50 Mile Challenge event has been cancelled.
The committee made the announcement on Wednesday just three days out citing circumstances beyond their control, after concerns over numbers and following advice from the HSE.
Local Gardaí in Kells said if the physical event in Moylagh went ahead they would prosecute the committee and prepare a file for the DPP.

Gerry McDonnell, a member of the committee, says the Government and local Gardaí have caused confusion and left participants in difficult positions as many had accommodation booked.
However, he is asking all registered participants to take part in the event virtually on Saturday in their own area as they aim to raise €1m for Cancer services in Ireland:
