A Cavan Priest cautioned for saying mass to a congregation has questioned the introduction of laws without consideration for faith.

Last week, the Parish Priest in Mullahoran Fr PJ Hughes was cautioned for breaking Covid-19 restrictions by allowing people in church while he celebrated Mass.

He told Shannonside Northern Sound that he doesn't want a criminal record, but is sad that faith is being pushed to one side.

Mass will now be said at irregular times to prevent people attended, but he says closing the church doors "would be an insult to the people, no matter what law is put in place".

Speaking on The Joe Finnegan Show, Fr PJ said religion isn't being considered in the restrictions.
