Over €1.4 million of funding has been announced for local community projects in the Shannonside Northern Sound region.
The funding was announced this morning by Cavan Monaghan TD and Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys as part of €4.1 million allocated nationwide under the 2020 Clár Programme.
Cavan is the county reaping the highest financial benefit locally with eight projects there awarded €334,692.
Eight projects in Roscommon were also awarded a combined total of €309,144 while over €260,000 each was allocated to eight projects in Longford (€265,667.70) and a further eight projects in Leitrim (€267,907).
Finally, €233,276.60 was awarded to seven community projects in Monaghan.
The funding announcement is being welcomed by Oireachtas members and Councillors from across the region.
