Parents in Cavan and Monaghan are being warned of an increase in cases of a potentially serious tummy bug in children.
The HSE says the number of cryptosporidiosis cases has more than doubled last month compared to average rates, particularly in children under four.
The bug is usually contracted after time spent on a farm or in contact with livestock, and can cause diarrhoea, nausea or stomach pain.

Dr Keith Ian Quintyne, a Specialist from the Department of Public Health North East, says there is a very simple way to prevent infection.
