A "perfect storm" is driving the price of beef up for local farmers.

There's been an increase in demand from UK supermarkets for Irish meat, there's been a stockpiling of beef ahead of Brexit as well a short supply of cattle entering factories.

Adam Woods from the Irish Farmers Journal says prices have went up by around 20 cent, to €3.80 per kilo.

However, Cavan native told Shannonside Northern Sound that prices still aren't at the break-even point.
