Flemings Retail is seeking permission to build several homes in Monaghan Town.
The dwellings will be a mix of two and three bedroom properties.
Flemings Retail, known for its department store on Church Square, has lodged a planning application which would see the renovation of three apartments on Mill Street.
It plans to turn the apartments, which are located within an architectural conservation area, into three dwellings with three bedrooms apiece.
The works would also see the demolition of an existing apartment building to the rear of Mill Street to allow for the construction of five, two bedroom dwellings.
The plans also include associated parking, an open-space, and landscaping and ancillary site works.
A decision is expected by the 23rd of July.
