Sinn Féin councillors Colm Carthy and Cathy Bennett requested the flying of the rainbow flag to show solidarity with the LGBTI+ community.

The Chief executives of Monaghan County Council and the CMETB both agreed to the request, which will see the flag flown from the 20th to 28th of June.
