Work is ongoing to restore peatlands on Cuilcagh mountain.
The work in Cavan and Fermanagh is being carried out through the CANN network and is funded through the EU's Interreg programme.
The Cuilcagh Mountain Special Area of Conservation is the second largest blanket bog in Northern Ireland and is an important habitat for red grouse and golden plover.

Local farmers are working with Ulster Wildlife to restore eroded areas of peat which will allow for the rewetting of the bogs.
This in turn is expected to allow for better carbon capture and in turn tackle climate change.
